Hallmarked for Chester 1904, this very unusual Edwardian silver Trumps Indicator case is also stamped with the initials BPDC, which stand for the Boots Pure Drugs Company. At this time they were making luxury goods which included silver photo frames and napkin rings.
It small, measuring only 34 x 24 mm and is extremely tactile. And ingenious in its design. The double hinge allows the bottom to swing back to provide a stand. In the lid sit the original five celluloid suit indicators - including No Trumps which can be changed according to each hand.
