BOXED CHINESE MAH-JONG SET CIRCA 1920s - DECORATIVE DOUBLE BRASS HANDLES

Good 1920s Chinese, bone and split bamboo MAH-JONG set in wooden, five-drawer box with drop-in lid decorated in green paint with Chinese letter. The five trays of tiles slide in and sit on runners. They contain tiles, tally sticks, spares, wind indicators in circular box and boxed dice. The tiles are good quality - just more than one-thirds bone to bamboo and number148 (including the four spares) One of the many sets made in China for export to the west - i.e. the Arabic numbering to aid play.
