SLIDE-TOP BOXED MAH JONG C. 1930s

Slide-top boxed mah-jong measuring 11.2" x 6.75" x 1.75" deep with Chinese incised lettering to lid painted silver. Complete set, of 152 bone and bamboo tiles - including four jokers as favoured in these sets, usually exported to America. N.B. that whilst the tiles are of a very 'clean', light cream appearance they are bone and not ivory; cut into bamboo backs and each measure 1"x 0.75" x 0.5" thick. Together with a a circular bakerlite winds box holding four counters there are also three dice.
